Following the success of the first retreat in 2021 (see report here), we have again reserved rooms at Launde Abbey, a beautiful, high quality rural retreat and conference centre location. Set in 450 acres of parkland on the borders of Leicestershire and Rutland, the Abbey has extensive cultivated gardens and a wonderful twelfth century chapel (part of the original Augustinian priory).
It will be an opportunity to take time out, reflect, and get to know each other. The food is always excellent and there is a pleasant bar area where we can relax in in the evening.
There will be three relevant and practical Bible-based sessions to encourage and challenge, with time to reflect and discuss as well as times of worship and an opportunity to receive prayer.
Rob and Jane Garratt will be leading us in our Bible-based reflections. Jesus took the apparently insignificant offering of loaves and fishes and multiplied them to bless thousands of people. This is the God-given basis for 5000 Plus, the organisation founded by Rob and Jane, which helps communities increase income through their own resources and efforts, growing esteem and well-being. At heart, 5000 Plus teaches people to start, grow and successfully run livelihood projects. Through this, thousands of communities in Africa and Asia have been challenged and equipped to bring a long term solution to poverty.
Please reserve your room ASAP, so we can confirm room bookings. Places are limited. Accommodation is in en-suite single rooms but couples will be accommodated in spacious premium double rooms where possible. So bring your partner if you wish, though it is the same price per person.
Lifts can be arranged from the local train station, Oakham, and probably from Peterborough (on the East Coast Mainline). Let me know your travel plans and I will be happy to co-ordinate arrangements.
The event is for TEN Members and their partners but is open to those considering membership.
The cost includes room, two lunches, breakfast and evening meal.
COST PER PERSON: £40 deposit plus balance of £110 (including VAT), payable by 30 September. We will remind you when the time comes. This is the direct cost, other expenses will be covered by TEN. It is higher than 2021 because VAT is once again charged at the full rate.
