At the January gathering, Simon Westmacott (FD) and Matty Hawthorne (Marketing Manager) spoke about the Green Pastures initiative to tackle homelessness.
Green Pastures operates an ethical investment programme. They purchase properties for the homeless to be housed and supported by a local church or other Christian organisation. This is funded through unsecured loan stock and bank finance. They pay investors up to 5% p.a. to end homelessness.
Growth has been remarkable, with 1300 people currently being housed.
