April 2023 Gathering: Samuel Williams, Christian Aid
Reflections on business solutions to poverty, including issues with aid; Christian business principles; and a vision for the future.
Guest speaker at the April Gathering was Samuel Williams, who leads the global private sector partnerships team at Christian Aid including oversight of the Salt Network. We are working with him to bring together an alliance of Christian organisations involved in business solutions to poverty.
Samuel successfully designed and launched a venture philanthropy fund and is currently building impact investment funds. He is an entrepreneur, a political advisor and was a West of England mayoral candidate in 2021.
At the Gathering, he shared his insights into the role of business in poverty alleviation. He talked about some of the issues with development aid; the principles behind Christian led business; and his vision for the future.
